Jenna has an eclectic music history, studying classically at the Flinders Street school of Music in Adelaide and privately with a range of Jazz performers. She has performed in her own indie-rock band; fronted original jazz projects in Melbourne, Adelaide and London, along with writing and producing her own Cabaret projects.
Jenna’s experience as a creator of original works includes her self devised musical/ cabaret works Murder on the Cupcake Express presents ‘Food Glorious Food’ (2012) an exploration of food and comedy and Murder on the Cupcake Express presents ‘Moonlight and Maidens’ (2012) exploring romance and reality, both presented at Club Voltaire in Melbourne. Jenna presented I Told You I Loved You now Get Out! with her Adelaide band Jenna and the Stampedes at Adelaide Cabaret Fringe in 2010 exploring the dynamics of feminine power.
Jenna performs consistently in her jazz duo project ‘Jenna & The Band Stripped bass’ with regular performances at clubs in Melbourne including La Niche, The Lui Bar, Guildford Lane Gallery and private venues. During her time living in London she performed with Amy Winehouse’s guitarist Robin Banerjee as well as forming an original band Jenna and the Stampedes performing at jazz club Charlie Wrights and Ronnie Scott’s jam.
Jenna has taken extensive private study in jazz attending a workshop with jazz legend Chick Corea in Massachusetts, and with Australian jazz performer Michelle Nicole. Her classical training includes extensive training with Kate Sadler, Beverly Peart and workshops with Jo Estill, Founder of the Estill Voice Training method.
Jenna is always looking for ways to extend her practice with new contexts and collaborators including spoken word/ music performance of Léa Godard’s work, Women Versus Nature, for boutique French/ Australian publishing house EMUE, performing guest vocals with rock bands such as EVOLETAH and Katie Underwood and fronting popular original indie band Monté in Adelaide from 1996- 2003. Jenna is an in demand singing teacher and vocal coach.
